Giro is a leading helmet manufacturer and designer. Until 2010, they relied on authorized resellers to sell their equipment – that changed with the launch of their first factory-direct online store. We also took the opportunity to integrate media-rich experiences, employing video and social media to help market the products.
Serving as the sole UX designer, I had three weeks to design the online store based on the existing web site’s information architecture and sitemap with minimal research and data to inform decisions. After meeting the three week design deadline, I handed off my work to our engineering team, which built the online store using Magento, integrating it with WordPress for content and SAP for fulfillment.
